THE GREAT TASTE AWARDS 2011


This year we have entered our doughnuts into the Great Taste Awards for the very first time. The Great Taste Awards is the acknowledged benchmark for speciality food and drink and has been described as the 'Oscars' of the food world.

Our Berry Jam, Lemon Curd and Custard doughnuts were entered and all three varieties achieved the 1 star Gold Award! Out of 7482 products entered this year, only 1686 were awarded the 1 star Gold. 		 
 

HERE ARE SOME OF THE COMMENTS THE JUDGES MADE

Berry Jam Doughnut ~ "Good quality dough with attractive lightness. Jam filling really delicious with lovely vibrant berry flavours. A standout product."

Custard Doughnut ~ "Generously sized. Good yeast dough, beautifully light, ungreasy. The vanilla filling is a lovely creamy consistency with good flavour. A felicitous combination, this raises the custard doughnut to quality status."

Lemon Curd Doughnut ~ "Excellent, light but nicely tart curd. Unusual to find such evident quality in a doughnut!"
